Trochanteric fractures - which have to be fixed (with an implant)
Geriatric hip fracture fixations / surgery in twenty minutes using two cm incision - using Swiss nail
Why duration is important
- It minimizes the blood loss
- Minimizes operative stress on old high-risk patients
- Minimizes morbidity
- Minimizes mortality risks
- Facilitates early rehab – because of minimal tissue damage in surgery / incision 2.5 cms only
- Excellent results for very high-risk, cardiac, diabetic, renal failure, hypertensive, old >75 yrs patients – minimizing the risks
- Gives great results / pain relief – better nursing care and a happy pain-free patient
